…Except not at all.
Andrew Carter is an award-winning director, writer, editor & barbecue enthusiast from Riverside, Connecticut who remade JURASSIC PARK with action figures in his backyard when he was 12. His work has been supported by SXSW and the Sundance Institute. He cut his teeth working as a director's assistant on movies like THE WAY WAY BACK and SUPER TROOPERS 2. His independent TV pilot REVENGE TOUR screened at the LA Film Festival and SXSW, where it received the Audience Award and Special Jury Recognition, respectively. REVENGE TOUR was then selected as one of the 10 Best Film & TV Projects at SXSW 2019 by IndieWire. It was also invited to the Sundance New Voices Lab, and soon after was optioned by AMC Studios with two-time Academy Award Nominee Colman Domingo attached to co-star and executive produce. Andrew's next short film, MARVIN'S NEVER HAD COFFEE BEFORE, screened at SXSW and Palm Springs ShortFest. His most recent short LIBBI'S TRYING screened at HollyShorts 2024.
For the past few years, Andrew and his wonderful wife Zoë have been mostly focused on raising their son Felix, who joined them at the beginning of 2024. But, as artists are want to do, the whole experience of balancing parenthood while continuing to pursue one’s passions inspired Andrew to write a feature film script entitled LICKED, loosely adapted from LIBBI’S TRYING, that is currently in development with an eye towards production in 2027.
